River Rocks

Over the summer, I took a watercolor class with Donna Gonzalez at the Downriver Council for Arts, and she challenged me to do a monochrome river rock project. I used deep turquoise Japanese watercolor paint, which a touch of rose for variety on just one of the rocks.

My first time using my new Japanese watercolor set. I had no idea what I would paint my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, and then this happened- based on his new Dungeons & Dragons character. I went over the watercolor with black pen.

On one of my visits to Michigan, my boyfriend and I spent the day watching old Transformers cartoons. I painted Arcee for his Valentine’s card because it reminded me of that day and how much fun we had.

I painted this fantasy mushroom scene for my boyfriend's birthday and finished it with black pen for definition. It was inspired by a beautiful, unforgettable experience we shared together.

Lost Boys Kite

This watercolor experiment was inspired by the kite the boys send Max in The Lost Boys (1987).  I made it for my boyfriend to remember our first kiss.  Here is a pic of the kite from the movie!
